Who I Am

Hi! I'm Andrey Gorbunov, a software engineer and AI enthusiast. I created ExplainLLM to make complex AI concepts accessible to everyone — from beginners to experienced developers looking to deepen their understanding of Large Language Models.

Experience with AI & LLMs

My work with AI and language models spans several key areas:

• Hands-on development with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) and prompt engineering
• Building AI-powered applications and agent systems
• Research and practical application of modern prompting techniques (CoT, ReAct, RAG)
• Creating interactive educational content about transformer architectures and NLP

Educational Background

Full-stack developer with a frontend focus and 7 years of production experience. Currently working as a team lead and architect. Continuous self-education in AI and machine learning is what led to ExplainLLM — built through hands-on practice, code, and a drive to truly understand how things work.

Mission

ExplainLLM was born from a simple idea: complex AI concepts can be explained clearly through interactive visualizations and hands-on exercises. My goal is to create the most intuitive and practical resource for understanding LLMs — from tokenization to building production-ready agent systems.
